slc open studios

the sarah lawrence visual arts department hosts an open studios event each semester, where every class has the opportunity to display their work publicly. my final semester at slc, i got to be in a class called 'conceptual art and the photograph' with artist and teacher liz deschenes. i branched out of my comfort zone in art-making to create my series "impressions," a three-dimensional exploration of color and shadow, breaking through the borders between photography and sculpture.

i always love seeing other people's work, especially your peers, when seeing their work allows you understand their deeper sense of self in a more meaningful way.
